Weekend Favorites

The end of June is coming so fast! As I write, my oldest is at his 8th Grade Dance, and next Wednesday he graduates. Next year it’s high school for him, and my youngest will be starting middle school.

I know it’s a cliche, but I really do wonder where the time goes!

The mosaic below represents other people’s pictures that spoke to me this week. Be sure to click on the titles below the mosaic, if you want to know more about the image or the photographer behind it.

Around the Web

I spend some time earlier in the week sharing my favorite crafty links through social media. And then I repeat them here on Fridays.

  • Set Up a Coffee Bar that Will Make You a Legend Among Hosts – from Plum Deluxe. I love this idea! I think I need to have this party some night when Neil is not home (he hates coffee).
  • Kid’s Gathered Summer Top – a sewing project from The Purl Bee. These are so sweet done in Liberty Tana Lawn. They are similar to the ubiquitous pillowcase top, but different.
  • The 2014 Craftys Award Winners – an announcement from The Craftys. Well, my Mod Floral Blanket didn’t win, but it was pretty cool to be one of the finalists, nonetheless! Check out all of the winners in the different categories here.
  • The Creative Benefits of Plenty – thoughts from whileshenaps.com. Abby talks about her fabric stash and how an overabundance of particular items has fueled her creativity in unexpected ways.
  • how I use instagram for business (and pleasure) – from enJOY it by Elise Blaha Cripe. My own Instagram feed is private, but I think about making it public and adding a little more of my business into it. These are some useful tips for those of you who want to use Instagram to promote your biz.
  • Blackberry Dye – a tutorial from Urban Comfort. I love the idea of dying fabric (or yarn) with natural items such as blackberries. I’m kind of surprised the effect is so subtle. I wonder how it would be with blueberries!
  • How To Make Cold-Brewed Teas – information from Samovar Tea Lounge. As I thought: put tea bags and water in a jar, put jar in fridge for several hours. Done. Still, there are some interesting tidbits in this article. I am making this today because I’ve recently discovered I love iced coffee. I think iced tea deserves a second chance from me, too.

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. 2 bunches green onions, chopped with some green included.
They just launch in to the next part of their game.

There are so many great places to go while you are there.
