A wee bit of business today: I mentioned this last week, but I may have kind of buried it in an announcement of a new pattern, so in the interest of being more obvious please allow me to share again:
I’m taking some of my ebook tutorials, breaking out the patterns, and offering them for sale alone.
Two benefits come to mind right away:
- People who know what they are doing don’t need to wade through a million step-by-step photos they don’t need
- I can sell these for cheap(er)
Here are the ones I’ve done so far:

Or, just check out the Just the Patterns page in the Downloads Shop.
Right now, I’ve done this just for the knitting and crochet patterns, since they are the ones whose tutorials tend to get so long-winded as to be a bit pricey. I’m hoping this will make the patterns more affordable for some people (and allow me to bump up the price a bit on a few of the tutorials, so I can charge what they are actually worth).
Also, it’s worth mentioning that each “Just the Pattern” PDF comes with a special coupon that lets you recoup the cost of the pattern if you later buy the full-blown tutorial. For example, if you spend $2.99 on the Mod Floral Blanket pattern and then decide you’d like a little bit more hand-holding through the process, you can buy the $10.99 tutorial, enter the coupon code, and get it for just $8 ($10.99 minus the $2.99 you already paid).
Let me know if you have any questions!
