A little bit of this, and a little bit of that

Hello, there! Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend? I certainly did. My sister-in-law and new brother-in-law did a great job hosting their first big holiday celebration on Thursday, Friday I immersed myself in hook-making, Saturday was shipping in the morning and family in the evening, and yesterday I spent nearly the entire day curled up on the couch with Eamonn’s granny square blanket on my lap working on eBooks.

Reading that paragraph, it really looks like my weekend was more about slogging through work than anything else, but that’s really not how it felt. This kind of work doesn’t need to be slogged through. I enjoy the meditative aspects of wrapping patterned polymer sheets around crochet hooks. And I love an excuse to spend all day under a cozy blanket, even when my laptop joins us for most of the time.

So, let me share a few of those work-related things with you. You might find them interesting…

New eBooks

I’ve made two new eBooks available, based on tutorials from the archives:

Family Tree Magnets is a polymer clay project featuring image transfers and framing techniques. You can get the freebie tutorial here, or download the $1.99 eBook here.

Striped Sock Puppet is a pattern for loom-knitters. It’s not exactly a tutorial in that it doesn’t explain the intricacies of sock-knitting, but it does include links to places that will teach you those things if you need to know them. The free pattern is here, and the $0.99 eBook is here.

New Devices Supported

Every eBook in the download shop is provided in PDF format. I have been slowly-but-surely working my way through the collection and adding EPUB and MOBI versions for all of them. At this point, they are all available in EPUB format. This weekend, I managed to get two books converted to MOBI:

EPUB, in case you didn’t know, is the format used by Nook, iPad, Sony eReader, Kobo Reader and more. If you have one of these readers but don’t know how to download the books from my shop, you can also get them through Barnes & Noble and Kobo.

MOBI is the format used by Kindle. If you can’t figure out how to get the eBooks from my shop to your device, you can get them at Amazon.

Magazine Giveaway

Don’t forget, the magazine subscription giveaway from Zinio is still on, but not for long. Enter by Midnight Tuesday to be elegible for a free subscription!

Craftsy Class Deal

Guess what – I’m taking a Craftsy class, and you’re all invited to take it, too, for 50% off! The class is Fit Your Knits by Stefanie Japel, and you can sign up for it here.

I’ll be posting more about it at length soon, including an in-depth review, but I wanted to get this out there for anyone that wants to sign up now.

I have loved every Craftsy class I’ve taken, and I highly recommend them.

Fine Print

The FTC says I have to tell you that the Amazon and Craftsy links (<– including these right here) are affiliate links, and that Zinio gave me a free subscription in order to host the giveaway. Of course, that makes it all sound like I’m in it for the money, which I am not. I’ll be lucky if I get enough moolah out of it for a cup of fancy coffee. My opinions are my own – I can’t be bought for that kind of cash. >>grin<<
