Well, hello there. I’ve been away from the blog for a few days, getting reacquainted with my little blue Knifty Knitter. Why, you may ask, would I do such a thing, when I am perfectly capable of knitting with needles these days? It’s simple. I had a tutorial inside of me, desperate to get out! That, and I do really love using the loom for this particular project.
I’ve spent this weekend (I say “this weekend” because with the kids being home for the last two days due to power outages and road closures, it has felt like we are still weekending here) knitting a neckwarmer, photographing each step, writing a tutorial, and filming a video tutorial, too.
It’s all nearly ready to go, aside from a few more written explanations, and uh, the production of the entire video. When I’m finished, though, even those of you who have never heard of a knitting loom will know how to cast on, knit two different stitches, bind off, and make i-cord.
So, stay tuned, those of you who are already loom knitters, and those of you who would like to give it a try. This is your heads-up to go get yourself a little blue Knifty Knitter (or, newbies, why not get the whole set?) and 100 yards of the softest, beautifulest bulky wool you can lay your hands on (I am partial to Malabrigo Chunky) and meet me back here tomorrow.
We’re making Luxurious Neckwarmers! Ooooh, so warm, soft, and squishy 🙂
