I appear to be in Inspiration Collection Mode again, like I am nearlyevery year at this time. I’m not going to let it paralyze me this time – in fact, as soon as I’ve finished here, I’m going to sit myself down at the dining room table and finish one of the quilt tops I am working on. And maybe start the other top. (Well, we’ll see about the second top – wouldn’t want to get crazy now.)
Anywho, I’ve been looking at a few sewing/quilting-related things that I find inspiring/fun, and I think it would be a shame to keep them to myself:
Everybody seems to be talking about the Modern Log Cabin Quilting book, and my resistance to purchase is fading fast…
And by “everybody” I mean Sarah with her pillows, and Alicia with her quilt, and others who I stumbled upon last week and now have forgotten.
Be back next week, when the weather is predicted to be warmer and I am predicted to be less congested (some child I live with passed along his cold – we just love to share around here…)
I am beginning to be less intimidated and more intrigued by the log cabin quilts too. I believe it was on Alicia’s site (or could have been Anna Maria’s) that I saw a quick video on how to put together a log cabin block and I’m really surprised by how easy it seemed! (I’m a patchwork quilt kinda girl…nothing fancier than that or I start to break out in hives!) Who knows, maybe I’ll get crazy and pick the book up too! 😉
I’m currently staring at the picnic blanket I started this time last year and never finished….maybe I ought to do that first, eh? 😉 Thanks for the inspiration!
I saw that video this morning. Alicia linked to Susan’s site for it 🙂
A picnic blanket sounds like the perfect project to throw yourself into at this time of year – the beach/picnic blanket I made two May’s ago is still such a favorite, that I often use it on my bed 🙂
May Baby Blanket show-and-tell (2015) This one, while quite small, took me forever! The actual crocheting went fairly quickly, but I changed my mind about color and design about thirty times...
Weekend Favorites (2013) Well, you may have figured out by now that I write these Friday morning posts on Thursday nights.

Oh! and hope you feel better soon! We like to share around here too..first it was strep, now it’s a run of the mill cold 🙁 What loving boys, eh? 😉

Thanks for the get well wishes. Same to you!
Hi Lisa,
I hope you try a Log Cabin quilt. They are so much fun to make and so easy…all you need are long strips of fabric.
Here are a couple of mine..

Those are both considered “wonky log cabins”..you sew a strip and theb slicw a little off.
You can really use scraps of fabric too!
Those are neat – I like the idea of doing something small like a journal or kindle cover. A whole quilt might entail more energy than I can muster 🙂
…and, here’s a Kindle pouch I just saw on a blog.
