You can tell how much time I’ve had for play by how many photos I’ve had a chance to notice:
Only six? Yeah. Kind of busy this week. I spent Thursday so tightly wound, I thought I might snap. This summer-to-fall transition is really just as hard for me as it is for the kids, if not more so. Sometimes I don’t think people understand that. It’s not a simple matter of picking up where I left off in June. It’s going to take some time to get my bearings, figure out where to put my energies, and find my rhythm. Until I figure all of that out, I feel overwhelmed and out of sorts. Is it just me, or do you moms feel that, too?
I am hoping today will bring me some time to seek peace. I’ve got an inspiring new book I want to spend some quiet time with, and I’ve been thinking that a solo trip to our swamp might be an interesting undertaking. I’ve always taken the kids with me. But maybe an hour out in nature with only my camera for company is just what the doctor ordered.
My own favorite photo this week was taken yesterday:
I was at work, taking photos for their website, and of all the pictures I snapped, this one really grabbed my eye. I love the fabrics – I’ve been considering a pair of Fall lounge pants out of it. But more than just the fabrics, I love the old table that we used as the backdrop. The rustic setting really makes the fabrics pop. I tell you, if I had a table like that in my house, it would be the background for many a photo! It appeals to me as a photographic element so much more than any table I actually live with.
I loved this photo so much, I decided it needed to be my new Fall banner for the blog. I am very happy with the way it turned out!
Happy Photo Friday! I hope you get to play along 🙂
