Forget what you’ve seen on MTV. This is the Jersey Shore, “Ocean City in May” style.
In other words: cloudy, breezy, reading a book on the blanket, a bit chilly, quiet beach, peaceful, dipping a toe in the ocean, family-friendly, shopping, postponing bedtime to take in the boardwalk lights, ice cream, no crowds, wishing we could stay longer.
A fun time, as usual. I had a blast taking my new camera for a spin. I only wish I had figured out some of the more useful settings for beach and sunset photography, before the cloudy/rainy day of our departure… I still got some perfectly nice pictures, but I can’t help but wonder how optimal camera settings would have improved them.
I guess that gives me a good excuse to get myself to a closer-to-home area of the shore for a day trip or two this summer! (Like I needed an excuse…)
Bellísimos! Beautiful pictures. I specially like the first and fifth. Any excuse is good for visiting the shore.
Thanks, and you’re right – I plan to take advantage of good excuses as often as possible this summer!
It looks fabulous! You have me all excited for my trip to the beach – we leave tomorrow! Ours will be cool and cloudy as well.
Enjoy your new camera!

In some ways, I think that’s the best beach weather – it’s nice not to have to share your spot with 100 sun-worshippers. You get a lot more of the sand to yourself!
Enjoy your trip 🙂
Great shots!

Thank you – I had fun taking them!
I love the Jersey shore! My mom is from New Jersey (I was born in TX), and I agree, forget what you’ve seen on MTV! 🙂
Lovely pics!

NJ gets such a bad rap sometimes 😉 I’m happy to know differently!
That is how I love my vacations: cool, uncrowded and quiet. Your pictures are lovely!
Me too! Thanks 🙂

your new camera is doing a beautiful job!! looks like a perfect place to me, even if there are 2 monkey men harboring about. 🙂
Can’t do much about the monkey men – there were actually three of them, and they all followed me home, LOL!
beautiful pictures. You have quite the touch for capturing the mood and scenery
