The stockings were hung by the chimney with care

The stockings were hung

Or, in our case, on the little tinsel tree.

These are fifteen polymer clay stocking ornaments.  I was inspired by these fabric stockings to make a miniature version in clay.  I’ve always thought of my patterned clay sheets like fabric anyway, so it was a pretty logical progression, in my mind.

Stocking ornaments

Every year I make a pile of ornaments to attach to packages and give to everyone in our extended family.  Last year I kind of took the easy way out, but hopefully I’ve made up for it a bit with these.  I will probably need to make another batch of 10 or 15, if I’m going to let everybody have one.  This is a good start, though, and if I never get around to doing more, this is still a quantity I can work with.

Stocking ornaments

So, I think this is where I take my leave for a while.  I’m finding myself distracted a lot, thinking about blog posts and such, when I should be thinking:

  • What, besides this great owl ornament, should I be getting my aunt for Christmas?
  • What should I serve at our Day After Christmas Party?
  • Do I have time to make the four of us matching PJ bottoms again this year? (I’m thinking “no”).

Stuff like that.  I don’t want to spend the next week with my mind in blogland – I want my mind to be at home, taking care of holiday things and enjoying the cr@p out of them, d@mnit! LOL!

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Joyous Kwanzaa, and all that jazz!  I won’t wish you a Happy New Year because I will definitely be back here before then!  (Heh.  Knowing me, I’ll probably be back here before Christmas, even.)

  1. I’m a lurker who once bought a scarf from you and I’m de-lurking to tell you to make and sell these next year. I LOVE them!

  2. Those are adorable! I’ll have to show them to Gunnar. He’s the clay person in our house. Maybe he can get away from Santa peas and make some little stockings.
