Favorites week of June 16

Happy Saturday! Click on the image above to see the photo credits for my Flickr favorites for the week.

I’ve been looking forward to this weekend and the opportunity to tackle a pretty decent-sized to-do list. I’ve been blessed with sunshine and open-window weather, both of which are often prerequisites for my productivity, so there’s no real excuse not to succeed. Let’s take a look at how I’ve done so far, shall we?

Things I have been planning/wanting to do (or, at least, start) this weekend:

  • Clean the kitchen counters/sink to make room for old stuff from the freezer
  • Clean out the freezer to make room for the strawberries
  • Wash and slice the strawberries and store them in the freezer
  • Put away mountains of clean laundry
  • Sort and wash mountains of dirty laundry
  • Mix new clay colors to go with two different fabric collections
  • Make a pile of buttons in the new colors, and some old ones so I can replenish stock
  • Make two new handbags that are already spoken-for and are being patiently waited-for
  • Visit the fabric shop to buy more interfacing for more bags
  • Cut out the fabric for another batch of bags
  • Dye some linen and photograph the process for a nifty “garden skirt” tutorial idea I have
  • Check out a local farmers market I have never been to
  • Write blog posts about mulberries, my lack of recent claying, and the scary music in my cd collection
  • Process yesterday’s orders
  • Deal with almost a week’s worth of unanswered email

Things I have actually done so far at 2:00 on Saturday:

  • Caught up on three days of neglected blog-reading
  • Filled up my google calendar with potential free/cheap activities for the summer
  • Had lunch
  • Set out a bowl of cherries and strawberries for munching
  • Took a shower

I don’t think it would be an understatement at all to call me easily-distracted…

  1. First weekend of summer, you needed this day. You have had a busy week. Now tomorrow starts a new week so no more “easily distraction” …. you need to “git er done!” hugs

    1. Well, as it turns out, I tackled the kitchen/strawberry issues as soon as I finished posting on Saturday, so go me! LOL 🙂 And yesterday I climbed Mount Laundry. Nothing crafty, though. Maybe today, after I get through my inbox (which may take all day from the looks of it…)

      1. ewwww Mount Laundry. yeah I get to climb that one today myself. But…I also have two clay items I MUST get done before Friday so I will at least get to clay some.

  2. I would say “ambitious” and then easily distracted. That was quite the ‘to-do’ list!

    1. Yes, well, that’s me… Eyes bigger than my stomach, in terms of fitting tasks into a particular time period.

  3. tis the weekend Lisa! Enjoy your time 🙂

    1. Ok, if you insist 🙂

  4. What a beautiful blog! I can see lots of thought went into the design and content. a perfect place to come for inspiration.

    1. Hi, Katy, thank you for your kind words! I don’t know if you saw it, but I did post an image of my kids’ muffin tins recently on flickr:
