Give and take

One Object 365 Days: 85/365 03/25/08

I’m realizing that there is a noticeable relationship between the number of creative show-and-tell posts I make and how caught-up I am with orders and shipping. Take this week, in fact. I haven’t made one single little pretty thing to show you. But my mailbox only has about four orders in it that need my attention. (Four is an easy, manageable number, in case you hadn’t guessed.)

I’m happy to report that packing and shipping are back on schedule – woo hoo! Unfortunately I must also report that my creativity has tanked.

Supplies

Is this what it has come to? Have I been reduced to showing you piles of unused craft supplies as a substitute for finished projects? icon_rolleyes-flickr-2-5 Here is a pile of fabric that will someday become a birthday gift for my mother. (Oh, by the way, I’m now more than three weeks late on said birthday gift, so if somebody would like to pass the Bad Daughter Award my way, that would be great. Thanks.)

Supplies

These silver trinkets are waiting to be paired with clay and made into pendants for my new Carnival Collection. I’ve decided that collection is going to be somewhat diverse, but will be unified by the prominent use of silver neckwires, handmade earwires, and other silver findings. Of course, right now it’s all just a pile of metal. Someday…

Workspace

Someday when I’ve cleaned up this table. The rest of the house is astonishingly clean this week, but my work table (aka, the dining room table) looks like my muse threw up on it. I’ve got to stop feeding her all that snack food…

  1. heh, your muse is puking and mine is being a piss ant. Shall we just send them to the north pole all by themselves so we can get back to being creative? I think I may fire mine and hire a new one…..one that isn’t such a mamzer.

    1. Haha, I had to google “mamzer” 😉

      1. ahhh I do so love yiddish 😀

  2. My muse has been stuck work all week. Hopefully, I can be creative this weekend. Of course, my mom, who lives with us, is planning to go out of town this weekend. Woo hoo!!! I can’t wait, so I guess that makes me the bad daughter for the week. But, it is worth it.

My dining room table it clean. The rest of the house sucks. Guess it must just be a trade off. One or the other.

    1. Well, I’ll pass along the bad daughter award when I’m done with it 😉

Hope you had a chance to play this weekend – I did and it was so nice. I almost hate for Monday to come. It’s going to be a really busy week, with no real play time…

  3. Wow, I miss wood floors… so pretty. and so clean! Very impressive, especially for the end of the week! 🙂

My house is a disaster as I’ve been trying to get work done for a big deadline today. I hate to think of it – just want to go relax……….. Then maybe my creativity will re-surface…

    1. Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret. I took that picture on Tuesday, so it wasn’t really the end of the week 😉

Hope you met your deadline! I managed to clean off the table, and the rest of the house is still reasonably clean. Impressive, for a weekend.

  4. Hello Lisa,
where did you buy those those silver pendant frames?
