Reporting Live from the Clayathon

New canes and creations

This is the first project I worked on at the Clayathon today. I mixed three colors to coordinate with Joel Dewberry’s Aviary collection (the “bloom” palette), and then I whipped up some buttons, a pair of earrings, and something else that I’ll show you in a little more detail another time. I’m not completely sure it’s done.

The buttons will find their way to Etsy soon, and the earrings will find their way to my jewelry box really soon. They match this skirt, which I will wear as soon as I can fit into it. Ahem. icon_rolleyes-flickr-1-6

New canes and creations

Second thing I worked on today was this new batch of canes to coordinate with Denyse Schmidt’s Katie Jump Rope collection (blue/green colorway). These buttons are also going to Etsy, and maybe the earrings, too.

I’m pooped but I’m having a great time – good clay, good conversation, good food. Good night! icon_smile-flickr-1-6

  1. I can’t wait to see the finished pretty you teased us with at the side of the picture. Looks and sounds like you are having a ton o fun there. Color me green 😉

    1. Oh, yeah, it was lots of fun. I haven’t decided if I’m done yet with the teaser item. I may attempt to grout it…

  2. Oh, those are incredible buttons! I love that they match the fabrics!

    1. Thanks! I’m looking forward to having some time to use what I don’t sell of them on scarves or aprons.

  3. How fun!!! I love the blue and green!!!!

    1. Thanks! Yes, they’re a vibrant combination, aren’t they?

      1. Very Drew-y, I thought, especially in the stripes.

        1. Hm, you’re right. I hadn’t noticed that before.
