Color Challenge Finalists for November

Polka Dot Creations Color Challenge Finalists

I’m thinking it was probably lousy timing on my part to do the color scheme naming contest the same week as the November color challenge wraps up, but what’s done is done, eh? Let’s try to keep from getting too confused icon_wink-flickr-2-6 If you’re new to my blog, you can take a moment to read about the Polka Dot Creations Monthly Color Challenge, if you wish.

I spent about half an hour dithering about, making mosaics, changing my mind, choosing new images, changing my mind again and putting back some of the original choices. It was crazy, but I eventually managed to choose nine favorites from the pool of 130+ photos, and in the end I went with an all-polymer-clay lineup.

Allow me to introduce you to the finalists, before I reveal the winner:

  1. 5, by ZudaGay
  2. vessel, by naamaza
  3. Mocha Mint, by leeleebeads
  4. Untitled, by orly rabinowitz
  5. Rock Peeps – Crafting 365/39, by blockpartypress
  6. Photo 2157 copie, by heurebleue2
  7. ‘The Bush’ pc pendant, by DSDesigns
  8. Rock Pendant, by Kim Cavender
  9. Big beads, by beadworx

I encourage you to take a closer look at these photos and at the rest of the ones in the pool! Leave your comments on the photos over at flickr and let the artists know what you think – it’s always gratifying to hear that something you made has gotten a positive reaction from another creative type.

If you are one of these finalists and would like to elaborate here on what was involved in creating your entry, be my guest – the comments section is yours icon_smile-flickr-22

And now, I turn to the trusty random number generator (aka Neil, who hasn’t seen the entries at all) to select a winner:

Drumroll please…

And the winner is… #2!

Congratulations, Naama Zamir! Your vessel would look great in my living room (ha ha!) I will be emailing you shortly with information about your $25 gift certificate.

Everyone else, are you ready for December? RED will be our color for this month. I look forward to including many different media in the next challenge – from fabric to paper and funky fibers to photography. Thanks for your participation!

    1. The first several sets of your beads that I saw, I thought were glass! It wasn’t until I actually read your tags that I saw that they were clay. Nice job, and I really like the brown/aqua thing you have going on with these.

    1. You had so many nice submissions, I had a hard time choosing one!

  8. Thanks Lisa,

It does have a sand look to it. It was all a big spooky in the making actually. I was making it for a friend who lives in the bush, and was meditiating on him as i was marbeling the clay together…then all of a sudden i looked down at it it and Voila! It was kind of bushscape scene! I think the universe must have been helping me. LOL

    Thanks again,
