More Rain

Going for a walk

I wish I had something creative to share, like images of the beads from Dan Cormier’s class (back in JUNE!) that I’ve been planning to sand, but haven’t. Or the half-finished necklaces that I made to go with Alexander Henry’s Birdseed fabric, which can’t be completed until my jump rings get here from Fire Mountain Gems. Or the other two quilt tops I haven’t yet put together. Or an actual quilted piece. Or, heck, it might be nice to tell you all about the new issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry that arrived here yesterday and whose cover I have yet to scan.

Going for a walk

But the truth of the matter is that I spent the morning food shopping and the afternoon staring at a computer screen while my kids watched The Santa Clause [yes, they know it’s August]. We had a brief walk outside when I started to feel like we hadn’t had any fresh air in days. It has been raining for almost a week. And when it’s not raining, it looks like it will at any moment. It’s starting to bug me.

Going for a walk

And now I am putting off printing the paperwork that will direct my order-packing tonight. When I started posting, I was alone in this room, listening to my new Crowded House CD, feeling peaceful. Since then, both kids have come in here, and now one of them is playing a computer game and the other is acting out a scene from some show he made up. They’re competing with my music. And my peaceful feeling for that matter. Too many things happening at once in here! And I suppose that’s my cue to stop trying to write and start the brainless activity of printing and packing icon_wink-flickr-10

  1. I love the pictures. good for the kids…no shoes! I hate wearing shoes even in the winter. I wish you could send that rain here gf. we have a ginormous fire just west of us (and creeping closer) that could use a week of rain. This zaca fire will go into the history books here in Ca as the largest one so far.

That leaf picture….dang, how fun would it be to try and recreate that in clay!!?!?!?

Hope the printing and packaging went well 😀

    1. You know, it’s funny, I feel the same way about shoes. The only thing that will make me put them on is the cold. And that morning I woke up cold. Today, though, it’s back to being muggy and warm and I’m back to bare feet. I hope some of the rain we’ve been getting migrates to the west coast! That fire sounds frightening.

  2. Hi Lisa, thank you for leaving a comment on my new blog. I haven’t got this blog stuff all figured out yet. So I figured that I’d come here and answer you. I’ve been reading and greatly enjoying your blog for quite some time. You and your family are delightful!!! We are thankfully getting a rainy day today and with it a bit cooler temps in west central IL. Yea!

    1. Thank, you, that’s sweet! I’m always glad to hear I’m entertaining someone 🙂 Maybe you’re getting some of our weather now. I really enjoy an isolated chilly rainy day in the summer, but when it drags on for a week it gets a bit tiresome!
