Mary janes, bibs, and ultra sleep shorts

Today I did a little fabric shopping so that I could try again to make a better version of that shirt I didn’t like. I came home with another design in the Freshcut line, and while I haven’t used it yet to make the new shirt, I did manage to whip out three reversible bibs. Don’t they just make you wish you had a sweet little neck to stick them around?! I love ’em. I got the instructions out of Amy Karol‘s Bend the Rules Sewing. The top one was the first one I made and it has some issues, both with the stitching and with the snap, so that’s my “practice bib.” The other two are going to a friend of mine who just had a baby. They are so easy to make, and I just want to crank out a pile of them! I wish I’d known how to do this 7 or 4 years ago when I needed a pile of bibs.

I also made some sleep shorts out of that ugly ultraman fabric. The little people like ’em, and that’s what counts.

So, how did I manage to get so much sewing done today, you ask? Well, I decided it might be a good idea to reset my computer battery. I was down to 15 minutes of juice each time I used it, and I had heard that you could drain a battery completely, until it’s dead as a doornail, re-charge it, and the capacity meter would reset. So I drained it, and plugged it in for a few hours to recharge untouched. This is where I got that sewing done… Unfortunately, when I tested my battery, I had even less capacity than before! I’m down to about 3 minutes, which isn’t even enough to boot up completely. Very frustrating. Thank goodness I have three power cords around the house and can just plug in most places I need to be icon_smile-flickr

It’s 5:00. Anybody want to come over and make supper?

  1. Hi Lisa, just letting you know I emailed you about the little chair, you might not notice it because it will just say from “holly”.

  2. […] to make a pattern. I tried it with some of the boys’ Old Navy boxer shorts, and made them the Ultraman pants I posted about before. They really love those crazy pants, so last night while son #2 was sleeping […]
