I got a pile of sewing and claying done since yesterday, and you can see all of it in this picture!
First, last night, I used my favorite fabric from the Freshcut collection and made a wraparound skirt from the Sew What book. I’m really happy with it, it was relatively easy, and I will definitely make another one. I’ve got just the fabric, too. I plan to wear this one tomorrow when we go out for Father’s Day.
Today, I used my Susan Branch fabric to make the cafe apron from Simple Sewing. I love the instructions for this apron – this is the third one I’ve made, and I love it – so easy! I plan to make a bunch more and use them as gifts. I decided to use up the rest of the fabric, so I thought I’d try the kitchen towels from the same book. Turns out I didn’t have quite enough fabric, and I ended up with large napkins
Once the sewing was done, I needed a button, so out came the clay. And since I’d made napkins, I thought I’d try my hand at napkin rings. They were super easy. I just made a circle out of a strip of clay, baked it, assembled a posy on top of it in the coordinating white and navy blue patterns and re-baked.
You can wander around my flickr account to see some more views of my weekend adventures.
So, that’s what I’ve been up to. How about you? Make anything fun this weekend?
