Welcome to the new Polka Dot Creations blog!

A new month, a new beginning!

Throughout the month of May, I did a lot of blog-reading, and it helped me figure out what features I like in a blog. I decided I wanted more flexibility than what I had before – I wanted to be able to format the sidebar however I wanted, add as many links as I wanted to, my etsy mini, my flickr badge, and whatever else my little heart desired. I also was unhappy with the way comments were handled.

So, being the control freak that I am, and wanting a free solution, I headed over to wordpress.org and installed wordpress on my server. Now the blog is integrated into my site, and I’ve designed some graphics to make it fit seamlessly with the rest of the store. I’m really impressed with how easy it was. I still have some picky things to play around with in the side bar, more links to add, etc, but it’s good enough to unleash on the public at this point!

I have to run – it’s son #2’s “Special Night” tonight and we have games to play and munchies to munch! I’ll be back some time this weekend to post the Bestseller List for May!

P.S. Here is a link to my old blog, Dancing the Polymer Polka, in case there’s anything you ever need to look up there!

  1. I do love my wordpress. The LJ is just my old friend…

  2. It was pretty easy to set up. All that’s left for me to do is play around with the sidebar. I kind of threw it together.

  3. I like! The photos look great, and I’ll be subscribing to your feed.

  4. Glad you like it! I’ve been having fun with the camera lately. Particularly once I realized that blogs without pictures bore me, LOL!
