Empty hangers

Today, I left the house for Trader Joe’s and got distracted by Target and Old Navy.  That’s what you get when you have 15 minutes of driving time to think, and you spend it daydreaming about having a closet full of clothes that fit properly, flatter nicely, and reflect the image that you want to [...]

Did I say 24? I meant 48.

You guys really came through with the “you can get that room clean in one day!” support yesterday - thank you!  As it turns out, the photography has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning, so I could have had an extra day.  No biggie, though.  It’s neater than it’s been in recent (and even not-so-recent) [...]

I have 24 hours

24 hours in which to turn this cluttered space into something photograph-worthy. Tomorrow morning a person with a camera will be here to capture me “in action” making stuff.  I asked, “can’t we just meet at Starbucks?” but it didn’t fly.
My upper shoulders are still a bit sore from Friday’s pulled muscle.  Wish me luck [...]

Surfaces

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see all of these clear surfaces in my bedroom.
Neil left Thursday morning for Readercon, and I’ve been on my own ever since. Somehow I have managed to pass the time… I have been pretty busy, in fact, and I just spent half an [...]

Bins, bins, and more bins

I have a bit of a problem in my dining room.  It’s called “Inability to clean up crafty messes when I’m done making them-itis.”  Perhaps you can relate?  My living room has been clean for months now, but I can’t enjoy it fully because my view from the couch is this messy dining room.  It’s [...]

Disorganized

People keep telling me how “organized” I am. I hear it a lot, and it always makes me laugh. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that if Neil is reading this right now, he’s laughing his head off at the idea.
Kind of like this:
It’s true that I am surrounded by microcosms [...]

How much improvement can one girl take?

This is everything I ate yesterday. Wait - what’s that sound? Why, it’s the collective gasp-in-horror from all of the motherly-types out there reading this. My own mother scolded me in the comments for this photo on flickr. She knows me pretty well - you’d think she’d have realized by now [...]

G is for Guilt

Yeah, I have my fair share of guilt at times, and so it is G in the Encyclopedia of Me.  Guilt when I have other plans the same time as a family party; guilt when I have too much business to do and can’t spend quality time with the kids [...]

Is it Wednesday already?

Wow. Normally I’m a couple of days ahead, but today I’m behind and having a hard time remembering it’s already Wednesday.
I took a lot of slice-of-life pictures today, and I’ll probably share some of them here, but first, my parents’ wedding picture. It’s their 37′th anniversary today. [...]

Messy, Messy Lisa

Oh, how I wish I were neat and tidy… How I wish I could get a box of books in the mail, unpack them, put them on the shelves, and recycle the box all within 15 minutes of their arrival. But, alas, that is not me. I do [...]
