TWiP: Newfound Punctuality

This Week in Pictures, Week 1, 2022

This week I’ve made an effort to use my Canon 80D wherever possible. What I lose in convenience by not using my handy phone, I more than make up for in quality, I think. It’s not that my phone doesn’t take lovely pictures. In fact, my current phone is orders of magnitude better than the camera I was using when I started this blog. But there’s something about a DSLR photo that just looks better.

I really like it when I have something worthwhile to share in these weekly roundups. I’ll admit that some weeks feel a bit sparse. But this is one of those satisfying weeks, with multiple projects to share. Some knitting, some crocheting, and some slow cooking.

TWiP: NJ Fiber Festival and Other Stories

This Week in Pictures, Week 37, 2021

I finished crocheting a mandala for Mom last Saturday. We went to the NJ Sheep and Fiber Festival on a whim on Sunday. I swatched for a new knitting project on Monday. Our old van that would not start got towed out of the driveway. I lit a couple of candles. That’s pretty much it for this mid-September week 🙂

TWiP: Maple is the new Pumpkin Spice

This Week in Pictures, Week 36, 2021

Last year I declared that the rest of the world was welcome to their pumpkin spice addiction, and that I would instead be quietly hording all of the maple products, thankyouverymuch.

Well, it turns out the rest of the world wants in on the maple thing, too. Never mind that maple is actually a late winter / early spring product when it comes right down to it. Somehow it is becoming the Next Big Fall Flavor.
