About Me
I’m Lisa Clarke: a wife, mother, businessowner and artsyperson. Not always in that particular order.
Since 1996, I have made jewelry and gifts from polymer clay. My specialty lies in creating pleasing color schemes, and complex patterns that coordinate with each other through their use of color. You can find my work here in the Polka Dot Cottage shop.
Since discovering sewing in the summer of 2007, I have been borrowing color schemes from favorite designer fabric collections. I custom-mix clay colors to match the fabric, and use them to build my signature complex patterns. The resulting fabric-inspired creations are available in my Etsy shop.
My little Polka Dot empire also includes Polka Dot Creations, a polymer clay book store that has been open since 2001, and Polka Dot Radio, an internet radio station, which will end it’s two-year run on November 20th.
I live in New Jersey with my long-suffering husband, our two young boys, and a growing pile of craft supplies that threatens to take over the house.
Through my involvement in the creative blogging community, I have been inspired to try new things and expand my crafty repertoire. Within these pages, don’t be surprised to find sewing, loom knitting, tub dying and plenty of miscellaneous projects that I find myself drawn to, in addition to my polymer clay work. I hope you enjoy this little slice of life here at Polka Dot Cottage. Pour yourself a glass of lemonade, pull up a chair, and make yourself at home!
