Polka Dot Cottage: About Me

About Me

I’m Lisa Clarke: a wife, mother, businessowner and artsyperson. Not always in that particular order.

Since 1996, I have been a polymer clay addict.  You can learn more about that as well as purchase some of my work here in the Polka Dot Cottage shop.

My little Polka Dot empire also includes Polka Dot Creations, a polymer clay book store that has been open since 2001, and Polka Dot Radio, an internet radio station, which officially ended it’s two-year run on November 20th, 2008, but last I checked is still playing at the whim of Live365.

Through my involvement in the creative blogging community, I have been inspired to try new things and expand my crafty repertoire.  Within these pages, don’t be surprised to find sewing, loom knitting, tub dying and plenty of miscellaneous projects that I find myself drawn to, in addition to my polymer clay work.

When I’m not making things, I like to talk about the little everyday adventures that pop up in and around the New Jersey home I share with my three supporting players:

  • Neil, my husband of fourteen years, educational technology guru by day and SciFi/Fantasy book guru by night.
  • “BOG“, my nine-year-old son, fourth grader and mastermind behind Boring Office Guy, Yodel Man, Old Man Grumpo, and countless other entertaining characters .
  • “Flufy“, my six-year-old son, who is still small enough to scoop up and cover with kisses, but probably not for long, much to this mother’s chagrin.

I hope you enjoy this little slice of life here at Polka Dot Cottage. Pour yourself a glass of lemonade, pull up a chair, and make yourself at home!
