TWiP: Summer fruit, flowers, and water fun

This Week in Pictures (TWiP) at Polka Dot Cottage

I see a few themes emerging this week: fruit, flowers, and under water photography.

I predict more of the same in the coming weeks. It’s some of my favorite stuff of summer.

Happy Fourth of July weekend to my fellow Americans! 🇺🇸

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2016), plus some snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.

📱 = taken with my Samsung phone

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

365 📱: 2016 177/366 – I knew my phone technically was capable of underwater photography, but actually submerging it took a little bit of bravery on my part. Glad I took the plunge (ha ha)! Next time I do this, I will give more thought to composition and such. This time I was just glad I could get it to work and didn’t ruin my phone in the process ☺ [Taken at my parents’ house.]

Sunday

365 📷: 2016 178/366 – I finally remembered to go to the farmers market at a time when there was actually a market in session. (I am constantly remembering at the wrong times!) I was happy to see there are still strawberries to be had, and I am so glad to have gotten to the pickle guy. These pickles have spoiled me for store-bought ones, and so I go all winter and spring missing my favorite sweet pickle slices.

Monday

365 📷: 2016 179/366 – Yesterday’s farmers market strawberries are today’s individual fruit crisps. I used my Wineberry Crisp recipe, halved, with strawberries as the only fruit, and cooked for just 45 minutes. The recipe is here: www.lisaclarke.net/2014/07/21/wineberry-crisp-2-0-now-hea…

Tuesday

365 📷: 2016 180/366 – These lilies always do so well here.

Wednesday

365 📷: 2016 181/366 – I’m playing around with new ways to display my earrings and such, since I may have a small dedicated spot in which to sell them locally soon.

Thursday

365 📱: 2016 182/366 – More fun with my phone under water. Try as I might, I couldn’t get anyone to agree to put on some goggles and let me take pictures of their faces. So, I made do with capturing sons and nephews as they swam by. It’s more luck than skill for me, since I can’t actually see the phone screen when I press the shutter… [Taken at my parents’ house.]

Friday

365 📷: 2016 183/366 – I’m so glad my yellow roses bloomed this year. I wasn’t sure they were going to.

Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr and/or Instagram.

I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
