TWiP: I’ve been drinking again

This Week in Pictures (TWiP) at Polka Dot Cottage My images contain four cups of coffee, a frappuccino, and a glass of wine. I didn’t exactly expand my horizons much with my photography this week. Ah well. Some weeks are like that. And I don’t happen to have a problem with mug shots, even if a certain spouse of mine likes to tease me about all of the coffee in my pictures β˜•

Speaking of coffee, I think I need a refill. You can look at the photos I took this week while I go do that πŸ™‚

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the photos I shot with my DSLR for Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2016), plus some phone snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

365: 2016 72/366 – I’ve got some custom clay colors that need to be mixed and a kid who is looking to earn some cash. This seems like a win-win situation to me.

Instagram: I worked on my Etsy shop tonight. Now it’s time for Netflix and a snack πŸ˜Šβ˜• Just have to figure out what to watch… #netflixandsnacks #saturdaynight

Sunday

Instagram: Still exploring the idea of “school spirit jewelry” in particular the line between making the colors less garish and keeping them recognizable as school colors. #polymerclay #whrhs #brownandgold

365: 2016 73/366 – Seems all I’ve done all day is computer work and schlepping one of my kids around. And I’ve still got more of both to do tonight. Sigh. I didn’t plan this weekend very well. I like my Sundays to be much more relaxing than this. Oh well. Better luck next week, I hope!

Instagram: I’ve felt so directionless in the evening lately, unable to pick a knitting or #crochet project and stick with it. So I just grabbed this WIP from the basement. It’s the #grannysquaresampler I started almost 4 years ago. Maybe it’s time to finish it once and for all…

Monday

365: 2016 74/366 – A cold, wet Monday morning, the first Monday of Daylight Savings Time. After getting up in the dark to make lunches and drive kids through the rain to their respective destinations, how could I resist climbing back into bed for a few moments of warmth and relaxation? I don’t regret it, despite the fact that I fell asleep and lost two hours of prime work time. That rarely happens, so I must have needed it. Enjoying a late breakfast in bed now before I tackle my list πŸ™‚

Tuesday

365: 2016 75/366 – My favorite supper: pasta, garlic bread, and wine.

Wednesday

365: 2016 76/366 – I met some people today who really liked my earrings. Later, in the parking lot, after giving out a bunch of business cards, I realized the earrings were kind of hard to find on my website. This sparked a total Handmades Shop re-design, and I’m still not finished. It’s going to be a nerdy couple of days!

Thursday

Instagram: Back from another pre-dawn trip to the airport. Yawn. Now I hang out on my bed, drinking take-out coffee and texting my husband until his flight takes off. Did I mention yawn?

Instagram: #goodmailday today! I was happy to support @gather_here Kickstarter, and my reward just arrived. I need to find the perfect occasion to wear my #makersgonnamake tattoo 😊 Also, my initial stamp from @milne68 is here, too. Can’t wait to stick my LRC on every #polymerclay thing I make from now on πŸ’Ÿ

365: 2016 77/365 – When Neil goes away on business, the boys and I have *at least* one night of eating less-than-ideal stuff for supper. Tonight’s edition: Frappuccinos and green bagels (Happy St. Patrick’s Day). Tomorrow I’ll go back to watching my carbs πŸ˜‰ [Taken with my phone in the Starbucks parking lot.]

Instagram: I’m closer to the finish line on this #grannysquaresampler than I originally thought! I am so glad I decided to turn all of the random motifs into large uniformly sized squares. The original design was upsetting to my sense of order πŸ˜†

Friday

365: 2016 78/366 – After school, having a snack and chatting with the kids about their day. I’m going to miss this when I find a job. I like being here when they come home.

Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on FlickrΒ and/or Instagram.

I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!

  1. Nice! Your crochet squares look so pretty! I need to get going on a baby afghan. Love your color matches!
Nothing like hanging out in bed drinking coffee and reading a good book! πŸ™‚

    1. I wish I could hang out in bed drinking coffee and reading a good book every day! πŸ™‚
Have fun with your baby afghan – I made one at this time last year, and I loved how quick it was to make a blanket that small!
