Stuffing the stocking

Most of you know that I make crafty tools (crochet hooks, knitting loom picks, seam rippers) and that I periodically open up the shop for custom ordering, but I feel like maybe I don’t do a great job of getting the word out about two other facts:

  1. Even when I’m not taking custom orders, the shop is usually still open, and full of read-to-ship items.
  2. I make jewelry, too.

Colorful Handcrafted Earrings

I’m mentioning this now, because I’ve been adding earrings to the shop little by little over the last few weeks, and I thought you should know because they are super great for stuffing into stockings.

Also? They’re just super great. If I do say so myself 🙂 They’re smooth and shiny, and they come either on copper wires or sterling silver wires. I made myself a pair of Swamp Jubilee circle earrings on copper wires a few weeks ago, and I’ve barely taken them off since. I love them.

Anyway, that’s my pitch. You should take a look 🙂

Oh! And I almost forgot! I added a Steeply Discounted section to the shop last week and I never told you about it! These are things that I made some time ago, and they are at least 50% off. Many of them are discounted 75%. That’s definitely a great place to look for stocking stuffers.

Anyway.

I haven’t been around here much this week because I’ve had a cold to deal with. It’s my third one this year, which is kind of weird, given how infrequently I usually get sick. It was a pretty annoying cold there for a while, but I’m feeling much better today, and ready to finally get into the world of ornament-making.

I had hoped to get started working on the family portrait ornament orders long before now, but see above re: annoying cold.

Today, I did a little clay shopping for some essential colors, and I reconfigured my work area to be more conducive to ornaments. I realize it’s the same medium for both ornaments and my jewelry/tools, but the techniques are so different that it sometimes feels like an entirely different craft. I have to put away all of my colorful millefiori canes, and set out all of the solid colors.

It’s a little sad for me, actually, because I’m still feeling so much like making more of the millefiori stuff, but I just know there’s no time left, if I want to get these ornaments in the mail before Christmas! There’s only so many clay days I can allow myself, if I don’t want to completely drop the ball on my family’s Christmas festivities. I have to change gears somewhere, and probably the sooner the better.

Anyway, it would make me happy to see some of those earrings go to colorful new homes, so I hope you’ll go have a look! Thanks 🙂
