TWiP: graph paper everywhere

This Week in Pictures (TWiP) at Polka Dot Cottage

Nerd alert. You will notice this week that I used a lot of graph paper. I am fairly confident that I have solved my pajama pants conundrum, but I haven’t actually sewn the test pair yet. This weekend, maybe. I just had to take a few days off from it, because I was clearly making it far too complicated. When I’m finished with this process I am going to have a whole bunch of barely wearable pajamas in my drawer 😜

Oh! I almost forgot to mention, this is the 1st anniversary of the very first TWiP post! I am so glad I started this series. I have such fun going back and looking at the mosaics. If you’d like a trip down memory lane, you can check out the first TWiP here. Thanks for reading along all year!

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2015), plus some everyday-life snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

365: 2015 164/365 – I like math, and I am decent at sewing, but I’m trying to make a pj pants pattern from my measurements and am not finding it intuitive at all. I have some kind of mental block with this kind of thing. I know I can do it, though, and I enjoy a puzzle, so I’ll keep plugging away. Tomorrow 🙂

Sunday

82 degrees. I think I will brave it 😎

365: 2015 166/365 – I’m working on my next tutorial – pajama pants! So I made a pattern from my measurements and sewed the first prototype. There are problems in the waist area, but I have already figured out how to fix them for my next attempt tomorrow.

365: 2015 167/365 – My third ill-fated attempt at an easily-adaptable pj pants pattern. At least this time I only made shorts and didn’t waste as much fabric.

365: 2015 168/365 – *sigh* I love farmer’s market season.

365: 2015 169/365 – Check out my new mug! I had it made at Zazzle. It features the granny square blanket I made for my son on the outside and a coordinating green on the inside. I love it! I made it public in case any of you want it, too 🙂 www.zazzle.com/polkadotcottage*

365: 2015 170/365 – We’ve got a couple of wonky-looking daisies growing in our garden.
