Ah, May. I ♥ you.
Mother’s Day was this past weekend, and while we usually like to keep it low-key (dinner out and a couple of handmade cards), sometimes it involves store-bought gifts too. My birthday is in May (6 days from today, in fact – yay!) and so sometimes if my guys have an idea that is too extravagant for Mother’s Day, they combine my special occasions and get me a joint Mother’s Day/Birthday gift.
That’s what happened this year. You’ll see what they spoiled me with down below. Suffice it to say, I can’t wait to take some super wide-angle boardwalk shots this weekend!
Oh, did I not mention? We’re on our annual Ocean City weekend!! (There are not enough exclamation points in the world to express how happy I am to be back here.)
There’s rain in the forecast (isn’t there always?) but we are more than capable of enjoying ourselves despite being cold and wet. It’s the getting away that is the real thing for us, much more than the sun shining or the opportunity to sit on the beach. Although, I do hope there’s a bit of those things, too. Stay tuned for next week’s TWiP to see how that goes. Think sunny thoughts 😎
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2015), plus some everyday-life snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.
Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday
365: 2015 129/365 – He’s so indifferent to me calling his name. (In other words, he’s a cat.)
Sunday
365: 2015 130/365 – I was given three of my grandmother’s tablecloths yesterday. I like the way this one looks in here.
Monday
365: 2015 131/365 – I’m back on the wagon, er, treadmill 😉
Tuesday
365: 2015 132/365 – Neil and the boys got me a new camera lens for Mother’s Day and my birthday! (10-18mm – amzn.to/1G4cnRM) I’m loving playing around with this wide angle. I can get almost the whole front yard in the photo while standing in the driveway. 🙂
Wednesday
365: 2015 133/365 – My teenager has an effective way of showing me he doesn’t like my sunglasses. Stinker.
Thursday
365: 2015 134/365 – I’m getting my beach reading ready. I almost always read food memoirs on the beach (why? who knows!) but this appears to be the year of musicians and actors. Not sure how that happened.
Friday
365: 2015 135/365 – It took an extra hour and a half (traffic. grrr.) but we made it. Exhaaaaaaaale 🙂
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr.
I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
Lol – the lock on the sunglasses made me smile 🙂
What awesome photos you can get with your new lens, as well 🙂
Yeah, he’s a keeper. A smart alec, but a keeper nonetheless 😉
I’m having fun playing with the new lens at the beach!
