What a week it has been, weather-wise. We got so many early-morning robo-calls from the schools this week for delayed openings and closures that my body is starting to automatically wake up at 5am. Not cool.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this is the end of the Winter weather.
To that end, I’m doing my annual “pretend it’s spring” thing, and I’m sewing a few things for my Summer wardrobe, including a whole bunch of tops, a dress, and a few pairs of lounge pants. All of them will be made from vintage sheets straight out of my grandmother’s closet. So that’s cool.
I stitched up the first shirt Friday afternoon, and I hope to get to the rest before I lose the will to continue. My sewing mojo is a delicate thing these days. It comes and goes on a whim.
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2015), plus some everyday-life snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.
Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday
365: 2015 58/365 – Birthday party number three, this time with brownies 🙂
Sunday
365: 2015 59/365 – Snowy Sunday. Three of us got kind of caught up in trivia challenges all day…
Monday
365: 2015 60/365 – My grandparents’ sheets. Aka, vintage goodies waiting to become shirts, dresses, and/or pajama pants 🙂
Tuesday
365: 2015 61/365 – I’m having trouble working up enthusiasm for yet more snow…
Wednesday
365: 2015 62/365 – My kids devour any snack food in their path. I thought I might keep them out of my newly-made snack mix by calling it this. Neil saw it and thinks I might have better luck with the label "science experiment." I may go change it…
Thursday
365: 2015 63/365 – Sometimes I think they over-react when they call a snow day, but today it seems justified 🙂
Friday
365: 2015 64/365 – The biggest obstacle for me when it comes to sewing, is cutting the fabric. I loathe that part. So I bit the bullet this morning, cut out seven patterns I want to make, got it all over with at once. Maybe now it won’t take me so long to get started sewing them up 🙂

I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
I both love cold weather and also dislike it… it’s great when I can stay inside nice and cozy, but going out in it is awful! Sewing seems like the perfect way to spend snowy days…
I feel like that, too. The cozy indoors component of snow is really nice, but trying to get around outside in snowy weather is so not fun!
