And phone. And internet…
Actually, I shouldn’t complain. I’ve been kept warm and well-fed by my parents for much of the last five days. And when the power is restored, I will still have a house to come home to. Not everyone can say that.
Neil has been in Toronto since Thursday, and will be coming home tonight. The boys and I spent the night at home last night, but it was exceptionally cold in the house, and so we have spent most of today elsewhere.
My laptop has remained mostly off, so I don’t have many pictures to show you, even though I have taken my fair share of them. My next few posts will probably just be scenes from the last week, as I get a chance to edit the photos and post them. The images here are from the day after the hurricane.
Thanks for the expressions of concern. I haven’t been able to respond, but I do appreciate them.
Last night, as I tried to fall asleep next to the fire, under two blankets, wearing a sweater and a hat for extra warmth, I thought about those who are in the same situation as we are, but don’t have a fireplace or family nearby. And today I made a small donation to the American Red Cross disaster fund. If you’re looking for something you can do to help, that would be a nice option.
Oh, and please don’t forget to vote. If you’re undecided, or don’t have a strong opinion one way or another, then please just vote for Obama and consider it a personal favor for me.
Be back when I can.
