Friday Photo Love: Picture Fall + a Month of Gratitude

Picture Fall ended on Sunday, so here are my last two shots:

Day 31: Thanksgiving

And here’s the whole month.  Some of the prompts didn’t necessarily have anything specifically to do with fall, but grouped all together like this, I do think there’s an Autumnal feel to the images.  I enjoyed this class, and I am pleased with the results, too.  I wasn’t quite as happy with my performance in Picture Summer, so it’s nice to feel that there’s been some growth since then.

So Monday began A Month of Gratitude (which you can join in on if you like – there’s no such thing as being too late to the party!)  Here’s what my week has brought me, gratefulness-wise:

What do you think of me sharing these here in mosaic format, rather than individually?  I thought this might be better than me overwhelming you with a weeks worth of full-size photos.  Do you like the mosaic idea, or do you like to see them full size?

You can click on the mosaic to see the flickr photo set and any explanations there may be for each photo.

Also, I asked Aidan if he wanted to get in on this gratitude thing with me, and he did (yay!) so I took that as my cue to set up a joint photo blog for us.  Check it out!

There have been a lot of nice photos and sentiments in the Month of Gratitude flickr pool this week, but I think this one by SuperDewa may be my favorite:

I love the unique point of view, and the story she tells is a sweet one, too.  Click on the image to read it.

And hey, as long as I’ve got you all here, how about a good old-fashioned mosaic of Flickr Favorites for old times’ sake?

Now that’s a full mosaic! You can tell it’s been a little while since I posted one of these…  A lot of Fall colors and feelings here, don’t you think?

Whew.  That felt like a long post.  A lot of photo business to cover this week.  Next week will be much simpler.

So, anyone else feeling the photo love this week?

  1. I like the mosaic version. It is a little less overwhelming and somehow more cohesive at the same time. Just my two cents.

    1. I think I agree with you. And since nobody else responded, let’s just go with that 🙂

  2. Wonderful post. Thank you so much for including my photo (and I just noticed another of mine in your fun favorite mosaic!

I think the mosaics work well for slice of life photos and large photos work well for the photos that you like for the photos themselves. I don’t blog (yet) though, so what do I know? 🙂

    1. I think you’re right. I like the large photos when they’re relevant to a story, but when it’s just a round-up of sorts, a mosaic probably fits the bill better.
