and so it begins

Fifth grade and second grade, now safely underway.

As for me?  I already kind of miss the little buggers.  Guess it’s time to dust off the trusty old task manager and turn myself back into a productive human being.  I’d kind of like to just go back to bed, truth be told…

Any of you dealing with the summer-to-fall transition this week?  Handling it gracefully? Enthusiastically? Being dragged kicking and screaming?

  1. Loving it! Although 2nd graders bus never came and Pre-K was stuck to me like glue at the drop off.
I’m all for the nap, too! I think we owe it to ourselves.

    1. I hope preschool drop-off got better as the week progressed 🙂 I had one who was tough to drop off for a long time, but he was totally playing me – he’d be fine the second I walked out the door!

  2. We started last Wednesday – 5th and 2nd grade, as well. I was dumped in head-first this year, as it’s my first time on the PTA board. Whirlwind!!

As for Remember the Milk – wow. I’m inheriting my husband’s smart phone in a few months, and I am going to have to get that put on it immediately.

    1. You’re braver than I am – I don’t think I am PTA board material. My volunteer job of choice has been helping out in the school library. That seems to be just my speed 🙂

    2. Oh! and as for Remember the Milk, I totally love it – when I use it. I have gotten it down to a science, pretty much, but I have to admit, I ignored it for the last six months. Still trying to get back in the groove!

  3. We started last week and so far it’s been dramaless and quiet. Almost spooky compared to other years.

I’m betting I can get used to dramaless and quiet though!

    1. I could totally get used to dramaless and quiet. Fifth grade is unfortunately a bit overwhelming for a certain 10-year-old at the moment.

  4. From the other side, started college after a year off and the first day wiped me out. So exciting though, my college is a really nice place.

    1. I really loved college – of all my school years, I’d say college was the best. And that’s coming from someone who pretty much always enjoyed going back to school. Have a great year!

  5. Hi,
Just wondering if you could talk a little more about how you use Remember the Milk? I checked it out after you mentioned it in your blog!
    Thanks
    Lisa

    1. I could have sworn that I had blogged a little bit about it before, but I just searched the archives and only came up with brief mentions here and there. I will devote an entire blog post to this very soon, but until then, you can look at my account and see how I have it arranged: http://www.rememberthemilk.com/home/lclarke522

I should mention a few things, though: First, these are only my public tasks – I have several private lists of tasks, too. Second, I have totally not been keeping up with all of these tasks, and I plan to re-vamp the whole thing when there’s time. Right now it looks so overwhelming and I need to simplify it! Once I do, I’ll blog about it. Enjoy! And let me know if that link doesn’t work for you.
