I had to laugh when I saw your bag - I had no idea how huge it was until I saw how it swallowed up your children!

I love how you used the mitered squares, and those clay buttons are perfect! Isn't it great when the two crafts complement each other so well?

I did see that video - very funny :-)

I need to put their second book on my wish list.

I love the Mason Dixon books (#1 & #2). I have followed Ann and Kay's blog for years. If you haven't watched their video "Pardon Me (I Didn't Knit That For You)", you have to see it. It is on the right hand side of their blog just under their books.

I have knit several things from their books and love how funny they both are. I actually test knitted a bag for their second book - http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Francieos/picnic-bag

My first project was the mitered squares which I made into a scarf with matching polymer clay buttons. This was my swimming pool knitting a few years back. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Francieos/mitered-square-blanket

I LOVE that book too! I have just finished another two wash cloths - I am enjoying the mix of colours of using up odds and ends of yarn! You are right they are the perfect project to have on the go for odd moments where you only have a minute or two - or to take to swimming lessons, doctors app etc :D

I saw your blanket last night while I was poking around Ravelry! I had been wondering if you finished it :-) I think, if I undertake that, it will be lap-sized.

Reading about these blankets gives me new appreciation for my grandmother and all of the hours she must have put into the afghans she made for my family when I was a kid.

I've had that book for years, and it's one of my favorites. Fair warning on the log cabin blanket - I have one that has been 85% done for 2 years. I haven't been able to slog through those last two blocks. It is a LOT of garter stitch. I have also knit all of the squares for the mitered square blanket. Have I sewn them together? No. Finishing those blankets is high on my crafting list for this year. I want to use them!
