Stalemate
My creative space and I are at an impasse. I would like it to be clutter-free and ready to work in. It would prefer to stay messy and completely useless.
I have a special button order to complete, but the canes I need are buried in a tub,which is under two other tubs, an ironing board and a sewing machine. Ugh.
I have visions of a new pair of pajama bottoms, and maybe even a new quilt for my bedroom, dancing in my head. But all I can do is gaze over the top of my clay-covered work table at my sewing machine, far, far away.
Ok, I suppose it is inaccurate to say “all I can do is…” when in reality there is another choice. There is the “move everything to get the canes I need, make the buttons, put away all of the clay and supplies, then set up the sewing machine and supplies” option, but that really just sounds too much like actual work.
Does this make me lazy?

Add a normally cluttered sewing room to a broken refrigerator (the spare that occupies a corner of my sewing room) pushed out into the room with all my stuff moved out of the way and you get a frustrating mess! Hubs finally pushed the frig back, not sure why he left it out-doesn’t work either way, but now I have to put the room back together. It does stifle creativity.

I also think husbands have some kind of “helpful-but-not” gene that makes them do useful things in the least useful way. Like cleaning out closets and leaving the contents out in the hallway for us to deal with. Not that I’ve had that experience…
I move next week and while I’m moving into a regular (well not regular, it’s got quirks) house, I will have a whole new, empty room to stash my crafty office stuff.

I feel soooooooooooooooooooooo much better after seeing your situation. Mine looks the same. YAY. I’m not alone. I work on my clay in increasingly small areas. Oh and well. It is not lazy I say, just “otherwise” inclined…yes, that’s the word
Heh, yeah, isn’t it funny how an entire table eventually becomes one small corner of a ceramic tile after a few projects?
You should see my craft room……yikes, I can barely open the door! It is very hard to keep it straightened up, it’s those creative juices….ok, not really. I go to the door, open it, look in “sigh” and close the door, maybe tomorrow!
It really sucks up your creativity when you have to tackle a mess first. I wish there was a door I could close on my room!
Looks to me like an excuse to go shopping – go and get some shelves! That way you can store all your stuff up the walls and make room on the floor for… a whole lot more stuff
