Polka Dot Cottage: Seasonal confusion

3 Neckwarmers

As I type, the mercury is creeping up past 62 degrees.  I’m wearing shoes without socks, a lightweight shirt, and fun daisy earrings.  Several of the windows in the house are open in an effort to flush out the staleness of winter, and I’ve decided to pick up Aidan from school today so he won’t miss one single second of this lovely day stuck on a school bus.  In so many ways it feels like mid-April around here.

Pink neckwarmer

And so, since I wouldn’t be me if I weren’t making wool hats to sell just when everyone was starting to Think Spring, or introducing a line of flip-flops in late August, I figured I might as well post about neck warmers.  I mean, really, it is still February, no matter how much I’d like it not to be.

Blue neckwarmer

These are all gifts, all made in the same manner as my original one (which I have worn every day – except today – since I made it) and all featuring a button made by me.  I’ve worked on them here and there over the last month.  They’re so easy to make, and so incredibly soft to wear, how could I not share the wealth and whip up a few more?

Yellow neckwarmer

If you have a good memory, you might be thinking, “what happened to the gray one?”  It’s practically finished, but I abandoned it when I saw this yellow yarn and decided it was a better color for the giftee.  I’ll revisit the gray one eventually.

There are more specific details about each of these neckwarmers on Ravelry here, here, and here.

OK.  Break over.  Back to checking things off of my list! :-)
