Paper, Pixel, and Pillowcase Flowers

Special Night

Friday night again.  Another Special Night with Eamonn.  He wanted to watch a little Noggin, so I made up a snack mix and brought it downstairs with a few drinks for us to enjoy.  About five minutes into it, I realized that if I had to spend the next hour and a half watching episodes of The Backyardigans that I’ve seen numerous times (or, God forbid, The Wonder Pets), I’d be tempted to scratch my eyes out.  And I love The Backyardigans!  I just don’t need to see the same five episodes repeatedly…

Special Night

So I got out some construction paper, markers & colored pencils, and went to town drawing flowers.  Eamonn got into it too and went through about five pages making his own pictures.  He’s fond lately of combining characters from two different worlds in his drawings.  My favorite tonight was the picture of UltraSeven riding on a raft in the ocean, next to Plankton on his own raft.  It’s an interesting place where the worlds of Ultraman and Spongebob Squarepants collide…

Favorites week of March 17th and 24th

Being Friday, I also took the opportunity to look through my recent favorites.  Look at all of the pretty flowers and plants here.  Lots of pendants the last few weeks, too.  I guess I’ve got necklaces on my mind lately!  I hope tomorrow that I will get an opportunity to make a few necklaces of my own.  Stay tuned for that icon_smile-flickr-2-7

Oh, and speaking of flowers, wait until you see what I picked up at a thrift shop today.  It may just be the most hideous sheet I’ve ever seen.  And yet, I feel strangely drawn to making a skirt, or maybe a fun spring/summer shirt out of it.  Think big flowers, yellowy-green, bright pink, very retro.  Ooh, maybe it should be pajama bottoms!

The potential projects are piling up…  I really have to clean that dining room table!

  1. […] I just thought you’d like to see the hideous sheet I was talking about in my previous post. […]

  2. Hey, Lisa? What’s in that snack mix? Because from here it looks like kidney beans and dry pasta, which suggests somewhat less picky eaters than we have been led to believe.

    1. I had to laugh out loud at that one. It’s actually Nutzels, Tings, and some BBQ potato chip crumbs 😀
