Polka Dot Cottage: How did I miss the camera crew?

How did I miss the camera crew?

Posted January 9th, 2008 by

So, I was sitting here on the family room floor, surrounded by books & stuff that I am packing up, flipping channels, and looking for something to watch.  I stopped on a Discovery Home show called neat, that was just starting.  Apparently a stay-at-home mom named Lisa Clarke is having trouble living in peace with the children’s toys that have taken over the house.  Does that ever sound familiar…

you know they have spy cams these days. I thought the person they showed on the last episode looked familiar :::::grinning and running like mad:::::::

I saw about two minutes of that, and didn’t hear her last name… too funny! I had just spent the afternoon trying to clear a space in Sophie’s room for the Barbie Dream House, creating even more chaos in my wake… and so a show called neat featuring an Un-neat Lisa hit home for me, too. I was too exhausted to stay tuned in, though, and went to bed!

I am the problem with the kids’ toys. I’m sentimental to a fault, hate to throw away anything they have ever touched and enjoyed. We have crates of baby toys no one in our house will ever enjoy again, but dispose of them? It’s like throwing away my babies! I know, I have the memories, the millions of pictures… it is time for a purge.

I don’t really have a problem getting rid of the kids’ toys, in terms of sentimentality. It’s more of a motivational issue with me. There are just so many things I would *rather* be doing than sorting through toys. The process is just too overwhelming for me.
