Cramped quarters
The Flylady zone this week is the dining room – the place where I keep many of my crafty things. So I spent my 15 minutes in there today going through my fabric and putting all of the nice stuff in a single bin. I decided then and there that I would not exceed the boundaries of that space. If I wanted to buy more fabric, I would have to make something with what I already have first. Or sell what I’ve decided not to use.
It sounded good at the time. But two chubby Priority Mail envelopes appeared this afternoon in my mailbox. Yeah, I caved last week and ordered some material for Fall napkins.
And some for year-round napkins, when there’s no season I’m in the mood to celebrate. And the leftover fabric will be used for Christmas gifts. I can’t wait to cut into all of this, but I’ll have to. Duty calls this week.
If I can’t fit these new collections in the bin, or make napkins with them right away, I think I know someone who can give them a purpose for a while…

I love it! I think you may have more fabric that I do! Although I could never cave to just ONE bin of fabric – you are stronger than I.
I have not forgotten your request to see one of my quilts – I am almost done with a baby quilt for my friend (the shower is on saturday – eek) So once it is done I will post it on my blog so you can see it.
Yeah, in the four short months since I’ve had my sewing machine I’ve developed a bit of an addiction… Time to reign it in! Or sell something I’ve made

I recently went through my stash and purged some out. I haven’t looked to see if there is a group that takes unwanted (poor fabric, it makes me want to keep it) fabric and makes some things out of it. In CO we had a group called Hands All Around and they made charity quilts.

I don’t know if there is a place like that around here, or not. I put about 3.5 yards of Amy Butler fabric up on Etsy and it was purchased within 24 hours. I’ve never had that kind of turnaround time on Etsy with my jewelry and such – maybe I should just switch to selling fabric there, LOL!
I love these fabrics I got, too. I finished one set of napkins and am halfway done with the second.

It is fun to look at, isn’t it? I would love to have a big shelving unit where I could store a huge stash of quilting cottons. For now, I’ll have to be happy just having an under-the-bed box
